Cheap Texas Car Insurance

How much will your Texas car insurance policy be? Higher or lower than expected? Check out our FREE Texas car insurance quote finder to see what kind of figure you will be working with!

Your premium is the monthly payment made to the insurance company (or financing company if going with a third party privy to your insurance). After a down payment has been made to the company or agent, you will be responsible for installments, which of course you can certainly pay in advance. In addition to these regular payments, you may also have one or more deductibles, depending on your coverage. The deductible is the amount of money you are responsible for paying towards expenses incurred by your driving (such as vehicular damage and towing), before the insurance company takes financial responsibility.

Look For Discounts To
Find Cheap Texas Car Insurance

If you do have a car insurance policy somewhat higher than preferred there may be something that you can do to lower it. Discounts may be offered for the following:

  1. Student Drivers: Completing and passing the driver's education course, maintaining a certain grade point average or belonging to certain community organizations could result in a discount.

  2. Safety Features: Having saftey features such as airbags and antilock brakes could get you a discount. It may seem obvious, but remember that antique and "classic" cars don't have every safety feature that's standard in today's vehicles.

  3. Number of Cars: You need a policy for every car you have. Sometimes having more than one car lowers the costs of the policy.

  4. Type of Car: Sports cars, luxury cars, and cars that have been enhanced for performance often carry higher priced policies because of their features, uses (a person might be more likely to race a Porsche than a Volvo, for example), and increased percentage of theft.

  5. Location of the Car: This applies to the neighborhood where the residence of the car is located, and where in the neighborhood the car is parked. A car kept in the garage of a secluded home in the countryside would probably have a lower rate than a car parked on the street of a busy city apartment complex.

  6. Marital Status: sometimes having a partner listed on a policy lowers costs

  7. Age: Are you older than fifty? You may be eligible for a lower rate if you are over a certain age.

  8. Driving and Claims Histories: Having little to no tickets throughout your driving history, never having been uninsured, never filing fraudulent insurance claims, and never being guilty of serious criminal violation or negligence (such as driving under the influence of substances or being responsible for someone's injuries or death) are all considered by your insurer. Sometimes even having a turnaround in driving history (such as going a couple of years since your last ticket), and having a somewhat low average yearly mileage contribute to lowering the costs.
